Basic Crochet Pattern Reading for Granny Squares

Learn one the most versatile stitches in crochet! This workshop will teach you the basics of the granny stitch and how to read a granny square pattern, giving you the framework to make many more. Use your knowledge to make blankets, purses, sweaters and other projects. No crochet experience necessary, just your willingness to learn! For ages 16+.

Purchase options include the necessary crochet hook, stitch counters and needle, as well as medium-weight, light colored yarn from the Art Garage (colors and sizes vary), or you can bring your own skeins of medium weight yarn of desired color (light/bright solid colors work best when beginning.)

  • Plastic yarn needles and stitch counters
  • Small detail craft scissors with case

  • Optional: selection of skein scraps of various yarn types

What to Expect:

About the Instructor | Samantha Surowiec is a multi-medium artist who has been crocheting for decades, and particularly enjoys making blankets and scarves with intricate patterns.
