YOUTH WEEK 3 MORNING (Upcycle Sculpt)

Upcycle Sculpt
with Kenna Riner

Week 3: July 8-12

Cost: $160 + $5 supplies = $165.00

Workshop Description
This project is inspired upon the idea of humans and nature coexisting in harmony. We will be making a sculpture that is made of 50% natural materials and 50% man made materials. We will do a small nature walk to gather inspiration and natural materials for our projects and then learn how to bring ideas to life by creating a planned sketch of their structure. Students will have lots of freedom to be individual in their ideas and processes, as the instructor will help them strategize and problem solve the best ways to construct their wild wall piece. This project will teach students how to adapt to changes, how to freely express themselves, as well as an outward look at their individual impact on the environment.

Instructor Biography
Kenna is a mixed media artist from Green Bay, specializing in painting, therapeutic art, and body art.  She is inspired mostly by nature and people after growing up in woodsy Wisconsin and spending years as a face painter. Her artistic style is bright, colorful, magical, and ornamental often changing people into walking works of art. Kenna believes that art can be a powerful tool for learning about ourselves, how we see the world and how we can communicate with the world. She hopes to finish her education after studying her first year at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and continue to working with children.
