Instructor Biography
Anne Rakow-Weist is a local art educator and nationally board-certified art therapist. The schools where her credentials were earned include the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Mount Mary University and Lesley University in Cambridge, MA where she earned her Master of Arts in Expressive Therapy. She has worked with children, adolescents and adults in a wide variety of settings, including Green Bay Area Public Schools and the Art Garage. Her focus centers on encouraging creative problem solving while expanding each artist’s repertoire of technique. She also teaches strategies to engage the whole brain and to regulate emotions through art activities designed to reduce stress.
With her own artmaking, Anne loves to explore a variety of media and tools. She is passionate about light vs. shadow, color tone, and shapes. Art brings balance to her life. She shares that life with a husband, two grown daughters and a rescue dog.
