Do you have a great selfie? How about a cool photo someone took of your face? You can even use a reflection of your face from a shiny object. Combine this with paints, markers, collage papers, pen & ink, cardboard relief . . . You name it! Learning more about facial structure, art elements and principles, and the creative use of a variety of media will make your portrait a true selfie!
Anne Rakow-Weist is a local art educator and nationally board certified Art Therapist. Her credentials were earned through the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Mount Mary University and Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, where she completed her Master of Arts in Expressive Therapies. Ms Rakow-Weist has taught SAW classes to a variety of age groups beginning with the summer of 2017. Her primary focus is encouraging creative problem solving while expanding each artist’s repertoire of technique. She has recently exhibited acrylic and watercolor paintings, as well as silk screens at the Art Garage and The Attic. In addition, she teaches strategies to engage the whole brain and to regulate through art activities designed to reduce stress.
