Looking for something to do with your child thats new and exciting? There are many ways to make watercolor flow, intensify in color, blend, texture and move. In this workshop, Melinda will show you how to do some of these basic moves and let you take out of those movements, what you wish to see on the final painting; which will be a bright landscape with a foreground silhouette. Nature inspired and easy enough to learn and share with your little ones. This is an introductory painting workshop and no previous experience is required. Join us for this fun, non-intimidating, relaxing activity, perfect for a mother/child "date night"!
Long ago I asked my Mother, "When did I begin to draw?" And she replied, "As soon as you could pick up chalk!" And so began my journey to doodle, chalk, paint, build; it is still an ever growing exploration of art.
Since then, I attended the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh in a dual major of Drawing and Painting (Bachelor of Fine Arts.) Along the way I had my two children who helped open up a whole new world of inspiration for me. Year after year, I continue to expand and try new ways to make art, learn, or grow just how I create.
One of the styles I have studied and am evolving in, is ink designs. I like to use different structures and paints as well as ink and pens, to make my art. Natural items call to me; the wood grains, textures, look, feel; the smell! Seeing a pattern or knowing I see something in it urges me to make the forms and shapes that I do.
