Adam is part of our emerging artist program.  He is a student University Wisconsin Green Bay This series of works is investigating the use of a canvas support as something other than a two-dimensional flat surface that paint is applied to. Treating the canvas like a shelf, rather than a flat surface, I am going against all art historical “rules” of what a painting can and should be. My work tends toward the abstract.  The words 'playgrounds for the mind' popped into my thoughts as I was searching to explain the reason for this. I seek to produce pieces that are some combination of beautiful and interesting.  Art should be fun.  It should evoke emotions, explore beauty and stimulate thought.
