N.E.W. Queerness - Call for Art

N.E.W. Queerness explores artists' experiences of the gender and sexuality spectra in our unique part of the world. North-East Wisconsin is rich in a queer culture that has sometimes been asked to remain in the shadows. In this breakthrough exhibition, The ARTGarage Green Bay invites emerging and established artists to show their work in the light.

The ARTgarage is posting a state-wide call for LGBTQA+ visual artists to participate in N.E.W. Queerness in July, 2018. This Exhibition ultimately is the promotion of individuality and challenging the heteronormative, cisgender and gender-binary dominated ways of storytelling in the Midwest. We invite you to share your art and stories with the greater Northeast Wisconsin region.

The ARTgarage & N.E.W. Queerness appreciates and welcomes the support of allies who do not identify as LGBTQA+ but will only be reviewing and accepting the work of queer identifying artists. All work submitted will be reviewed by a collective of queer artists and creative professionals in the Green Bay community.
