A physician turned artist, Jo is especially inspired by the textures and patterns of nature.  From techniques such as embroidering her print-works and embellishing her oil paintings using a palette knife and impasto techniques, texture is a key element in many of Jo’s works of art.

Jo says that the process of creating art is especially important to her and because of this, it is a major element in much of her completed art.  “This is especially true in my monotype print-works, which evolve as they are in process,” according to Jo.  After practicing medicine for many years, Jo earned her B.A. in art from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay in 2005 and has been a full-time artist ever since.
